Two Apostles, Elder Bender and Elder Gong told Church leaders the following as applicable to every single individual:

• Start with the Savior, then ordinances to yoke us to Him in the covenant path, then invite family to come too.

• We make covenants with our Savior and He will walk with us.

• From 1 Nep 5,

  • verse 10. We begin with records
  • verse 14. Lehi discovers the genealogy of his fathers.
  • verse 17. It filled him with the Spirit

• One of the ways those covenants come is by having a record.

• In that record are our ancestors and we are their descendants. People we’re connected to.

• As we have that experience, we’re filled with the Spirit. It is fundamentally a spiritual experience.

• Elder Bender left an Apostolic blessing that as we read these verses in 1 Nephi 5 that we will see ourself and our families in those verses.

• It is the Holy Ghost bearing witness of the divine nature of the family.

• In our own time, the records are safe for us in Family Search.

• Elder Gong opened the apps.

• Savior comes first, ordinances bring us to him, and then we invite our families too.

• Use Ordinances ready

  • Looks at your reservations, then your family’s reservations, then ward reservations, then the entire church reservations.
  • Makes it much easier to get names to take to the House of the Lord (focus first on Christ), the Temple.
  • This feature destroys the myth that all the work has been done.
  • You can see how you’re related to them, so you see the connection.

• If you don’t have a Family Search account, it takes 5 min and then you can have the experience that Lehi had searching the records of your fathers.

• The “My family Booklet” uses a pen and paper for people who don’t have access to the technology. Bring that booklet to a Ward Consultant and we’ll help you get it into Family Search.

• If you have done these things, you can get joy helping someone else. It is service.

  • It is a miraculous tool.
  • We can each have this spiritual experience by doing this work with these tools that make it easier.

• Newer members often can use help, one of us serving them to help them have that joy too.

  • They can learn about family members they didn’t know existed.
  • Recent members have a lot of temple work to do
  • We receive greater power by going to the temple. New members in the meeting felt that power, even though they had difficulty describing it.

• Prepare to enter the temple.

• As we serve regularly in the House of the Lord, we will be blessed.

• This is something we can each do. We can come to our Savior, by covenant, and do whatever the next step is for us.

• Elder Bender said he is grateful we live now.

• I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. He lives.

• I know he loves you and me, and all of our people who have come before.

• He invites us to assist in His work of gathering Israel.

• I feel joy while helping to gather Israel. I know you can too.

• The joy and the closeness to the Holy Ghost, the comforter, also helps me deal with the commotion of these latter days.

• I invite you to come unto Christ and partake of these blessings too.

• As more temples come closer to more of us, the Lord offers these blessings to more of us. He stands at the door and knocks.
